ALLEN IS DONE, BRIAN IS NOT.

I have been doing some painting and got the door Roberta wanted painted primed and one coat of paint on today.  I will look good when I get another coat of paint on tomorrow.  We have gotten the room pretty much back in order.  Well, for us it is in order.  We got snow and cold.  I cleaned off the steps and driveway and now think we got more like 4 or 5 inched and it is snowing some.  They are getting hit a lot harder south and east of us and it is heading toward Chicago.

the door looks GREAT! Good suggestion, Roberta! And good work, Dad!

I guess I shouldn't complain about our weather today. It snowed & blowed and was really icey & crappy out. But we certainly didn't get 6 inches. Maybe 3, I guess. I'll probably need to shovel in the morning. YUCK! And I'm SO SICK of the snowplow blocking our driveway. That is the WORST stuff to shovel!

Had a good night at Weight Watchers. I had gained the last 2 weeks...but lost it back this week. WHEW! :)

Doug, Maggie & Gray are planning to winter camp out on our back porch Friday night. The kids have been begging to do it...and Doug is always up for a campout. Me...not so much anymore! :) We'll see how long people last out there Friday night!

I'm going to have a piece of WW Crustless Pumpkin Pie (my nightly ritual!) and read my book, Mountains Beyond Mountains. It's good...but I'm getting a little sick of all these books about amazing people who are seriously saving the world. They're making me feel lazy!! :) I need a good book about a creep...that will make me feel like a better person! HA!

Good Night!

Looks great Brian!

As you might have heard, we had a crazy night of storms in TN. Tornados and all. I think 11 people died in TN and 35 across the mid south.

Meanwhile, I was lying on the couch with my fever breaking. I've had the flu for a few days and for the last couple of nights my fever would get really high in the evening and then break when I laid down. I've been sleeping on the couch because my mind races and I have really weird dreams and sleep very fitfully while the fever breaks. So I opted to just stay awake and watch a movie rather than toss and turn. Before I dozed off, I checked the weather and figured out that the worst of the storm was going to miss us.

This morning we all woke up to a big, blue, dramatic sky with all kinds of interesting clouds. It was in the upper 50s and windy. I was feeling much better and, for the first time in a few weeks, so were all the kids, with the exception of Ezra maybe. So we all went outside to play. It felt like getting out of jail free.

So things are looking up for the Shives.

Glad to hear the Shive family is getting better. Last night Beth said you and she had the pink eye. I will pray that you get bug free soon. We watched a good movie last night: "The Painted Veil." Very good. I got a 2nd coat of paint on the downstairs door and it looks good. I looks a lot better white than dark brown. We are still loving the new stairs. It is up to 16 degrees now and is not snowing. The city plowed our street, so I had to clean off the end of the driveway again. I said it had snowed 5" or so, but in reality it was on an inch or so, but seemed like more with all the blowing and drifting. Well, I need to get the mail and get ready for the Y. Take care and get well and stay well.

The door looks great.

Ben, guess you didn't get a flu shot this year. I have gotten one for the past few years and have stayed healthy for the most part. I haven't even had a cold this year.

It is warm here today for february. It is the 50's here.

man...you all are lucky with this warm weather. We're not so lucky. It was cold today. Supposed to be up to 30 on Friday...then a high of 5 on Saturday with 40 mile an hour winds! YIKES! Gotta love SD!

Dad...I told everyone in town that Norfolk got 5" of snow. OOPS!

Ben, I'm glad you're all feeling better. Good Grief! It's so weird for adults to get sick like that. I got the flu once when I was traveling in Baltimore. It was AWFUL!!!!! I feel your pain!
