Today Allen worked a half day and varnished. He did the stairs and the door he is replacing upstairs. For now we are just replacing one door to the pantry at the top of the stairs.
It got cold again here and snowed. This morning it was 2 degrees with a wind chill of -15 degrees. The wind picked up during the night and brought winter back. Rose Ann fell at work, but fell gracefully and is OK. She saved the coffee she was carrying, falling straight on her behind. She is a lucky lady, thank God.

I had book club tonight. It was fun. The hostess made a Weight Watchers carrot cake which was 4 points with frosting. It was really good. She's going to send me the recipe...I'll forward on when I get it.
It's so cold here. I hate it. We had a mini blizzard this morning for about 2 hours. Made getting to work & school very difficult. But then, the snow tapered around 9:30am. Then it was just cold & windy! The wind has now died down...but its still COLD!
I have a new book...Freakonomics by Steven Levitt. I've heard its great. I'm going to start it now in bed. (I'll probably get to page 2 before nodding off to sleep!)

Funny, I read it as vanished too. I was thinking it was a good thing that the job was almost complete.

I can't wait to see the recipe for the cake! Several girls at work have been eating Progresso Soup that has 0 points. The southwestern soup is not bad - the chicken and noodle is horrible!
We are supposed to get 6 inches of snow or more tomorrow night through Friday - it is really cold - yesterday it was 50 then a major thunderstorm came through last night and it was down to 16 today - several places in town had windy damage. I can't wait for spring

Sara - I just read your message asking how I liked my new job - I love my new job! It is much less stressful. I miss counseling the dental hygiene applicants, but I don't miss my old boss!
My new boss is from England - he is great to listen to and very nice!
My cake didn't go all over the oven - just got lucky!

The carrot cake sounds good to me also. I was so glad I did not hurt myself when I fell. It was the most graceful fall I have ever had. I was holding a mug of coffee and it did not spill. It was just like sitting back in a chair, and I was able to get right back up. Later I saw a young student fall in the same place. There must have been some nasty ice under the little bit of snow.
Stay warm everyone! It sounds like Indiana is getting what we had 2 days ago. Nasty!

So I read the first sentence of this post and then made a joke to Beth about Allen vanishing and just cracked up and told me that everybody else made the same mistake. It really makes for a funny mental picture.
I'll email my friend right now to get that recipe. I just ate another piece...um um good!
I had heard about the Progresso Soup that is 0 points...nice to know that its 0 points of mediocre or worse! I had some in my hands the other day, but put it back. Glad I did!
I just baked a pineapple upside down cake. It's for a friend's birthday...and its her favorite. I've never made one...it was kind-of a pain to make. But looks pretty & smells good. It's unfortunately NOT a Weight Watchers special!
Tomorrow, my friends are taking me out to lunch for my birthday. That will be fun!

Barb: glad your boss is so much better! I've left jobs because of bad bosses before. Made me sad...but nothing is worse than being miserable because of your boss. I love an English accent!
I'm going to try to read a little again tonight. Last night, I don't even think I made it to page 2. I'm just not a night reader! Wish I was!
