NEBRASKA DUCKS

The lake near us, Skyview Lake, is a great stopping place for ducks and geese migrating.  I was on a walk around the lake (about 2 miles) and snapped this picture.  The lake leaks and has to be fed by pumping water in and that, evidently, keeps one end from freezing.  When I took this picture it was only about 33 degrees and there was a pretty stiff wind that got to me when I walked across the dam in the background of this picture.  It is supposed to get up to 60 tomorrow.  Wow!  That will be nice.

I was walking around the lake this afternoon and some geese came honking and circling and finally landed on the lake ice and some on the open water. They were pretty good sized and i think they were Canadian Geese. I did not get a picture, but wish I had. My zoom is not too zoomy. Ha. Anyway, the sight and sound was pretty amazing. It is interesting how they circle around a lot before finally coasting in for a landing. All the while they are honking loudly.

Remember when we lived in Wamego, KS, Dad? We lived a couple blocks from an amazing city park. The lake there was a regular stop for LOTS of Canadian geese. SO COOL! It would be so loud in the whole town when they were stopping through. They are beautiful...but they make quite a mess!

When I read your headline...I thought it said "Nebraska Sucks" HA HA!

We're SO EXCITED for the Andrew PEterson concert on Thursday. Maggie, Gray & I are going...and we decided to drive to Norfolk afterward and get up early on Friday to get to school & work. That will be a hour less in the car late on Thursday and will mean I'm traveling with Mom & Dad & Tricia. It will be easy for me to make the hour & 15 minute drive the next morning.

We're super excited to see Ben!

Sara, I will set up the bed in the Green Room so the kids can just fall into bed. It will be fun to see Ben, Andrew, Jill and Andy again IN CONCERT and IN PERSON before and after the concert. Looks like we are going to have good weather. It was 57 here today. Wow!
